Once a Navodayan is always a Navodayan

Eight years it has been and one year since entering to and leaving from Navodaya but the void created in this one year is not replaceable. Navodaya has not only served us as a school, it has made ourselves more reliable, competent and better. We all children shared hostels together and over the years our friendship has grown stronger and stronger. Eight years ago we were strangers and now we have became good friends just like brothers. There are no parents in Navodaya, teachers and friends are our support. We couldn’t share everything with the former so all we had was friends. After Navodaya no new friends has filled the mammoth boots.
It was a good adventure in my own words, to stay with strangers to stay with teachers whom you haven’t heard of. Initial days were a bit tough but that mad sure that we are gonna more mentally stronger. Day by day we started knowing each other. In class six-seven we have done a lot of things which will seem stupid now. And its all true, it is part of life, we grow up with a immature mind. But the taste of navodaya became more spicy in later years, soon after we were promoted to senior house, it was because we knew each other very well even more than their parents and our mind was matured a bit. I still remember once in a week  TV, morning PET whistle ruining our sleeps, Remedial class after afternoon nap, fighting for toilets and bathrooms, calling friends with names, last bench fun, heavy breakfasts, chasing girls, making fun of teachers in hostel, secret mobiles, copying and submitting assignment on that last day, lemon rice in breakfast and diluted Dal in lunch and dinner and countless fun we had, apart from good friends Navodaya has given us some very very good teachers just not only as teacher but also as mentors. My dictionary will go dry if I keep writing like this.  Whatever I’m writing are not just word, all these are emotions translated into literature.

The day when we were admitted in Navodaya (July 15, 2010) our principal made a statement and I’m never gonna forget that line : “When you enter Navodaya your eyes are full of tears and when you’ll leave then too your eyes will be filled”. And those lines happened indeed. The day we left Navodaya (March 27, 2017) we all were crying, we may not be flooding with tears but literally we were crying.  Now it’s all past which is sorry to say. But now I know the value of those years after I meet someone from Navodaya as it’s a matter of seconds to make friendship with them. People may not admit but Navodaya is the eighth wonder. Now I thank God whatever may be for  Navodaya and feel proud to be a Navodayan. It will be more than fair enough to say once a Navodayan is always a Navodayan.

Navodayan Legends is an indigenous blogging site planned and developed by Ashish Majhi and Kanha Gouda, Batch 2017 JNV Zinc Nagar, which offers cognizance to all the fresh alumni of Navodaya. It is a fact that every Navodayan feels nervous and sometimes gets panicked just after leaving Navodaya, which is an unique world in its own away from the influence of outer one, in making decisions regarding which ways to opt after intermediate. Novaodayans are like frogs in well, unaware of the fact that how much blood and sweat are being put by outer students to achieve success. It is often seen that good student getting degraded and poor student achieving excellence and all these are consequence of the path they chose. Our true quality does not come from our talents it comes from our decisions rather. We believe with all our heart that this site will be able to help all those who deserve it.
